Assessment 1
Blog Task 3
Interpretation of my TPI scores
As
per my TPI scores; mean is 34.2; SD is ±3.5; scores of Beliefs, Intentions and Actions of each perspective is not much varied. It is between
9 and 14. Social Reform Perspective is Recessive and Nurturing Perspective is Dominant.
So,
the results indicate that my strength of teaching is that I am able to effectively
motivate the learners and develop productive learners according to the
capability of the learners.
As
a result of the TPI scores I found my strengths and weaknesses which made me
well aware of my teaching as a whole.
The
five perspectives of TPI (Transmission, Apprenticeship, Developmental, Nurturing
and Social Reform) are distinct views of effective teaching.
Transmission

Effective content delivery
|
Apprenticeship

Developing students’ thinking to
more complex views
|
Developmental

Learners

|
Nurturing
|

|
Social Reform
|
Changing
society by learners

In
my opinion, effective teaching depends on the teacher who holds the five
perspectives in his/her teaching philosophy. However, perspectives are dominant
or recessive according to the strengths and weaknesses of the teaching of the teacher.
